It’s Your Fault, Not Apple’s
By Jane Jamison
Apple CEO Steve Jobs had a “tart” response to the media nags and consumer-drones on Friday:
If you are losing reception with your new Apple iphone 4, it’s not really the phone’s fault, it’s your fault.
That’s right.
Some of you dumb, ham-fisted iPhone users are guilty of “iPhone death grip.” As opposed to Vulcan “DEATH GRIP.”
Rush Limbaugh, and a coterie of conservative columnists surprisingly jumped to the defense of Apple this past week, claiming the supposed consumer complaints about reception dysfunction was simply a liberal construct designed to attack one of the few remaining profitable companies in the country. Maybe a bit conspiratorial, but the MSM dearly loves kicking you when you’re UP. Seriously, do you know of dozens of people who have actually dropped an iPhone 4 call? How about one?
The odd thing is, Apple founder/wunderkind Job is a long-time lover of liberal causes. Maybe this is a jealousy spat between Google and Apple, over who is Obama’s best boy?
Jobs held a news conference to address “Antenna-gate” head on, so to speak, but not to apologize for anything. A recall was rumored, but that would be almost a billion dollars expensive….and, stupid.
Perhaps inspired by the BP oil leak, Apple’s answer to Antenna-gate is “cap it.”
Free cell-phone caps for everyone! Easier to just hand out some free stuff. Move along, nothing to see here.
Jobs even played this video….with a unique refreshing viewpoint: If you don’t like the iPhone, don’t buy it…return it…or just put a sock in your mouth.
I can’t stand Steve Jobs’ politics. I have an iPhone 3g and am not particularly fond of it. But Steve Jobs is STEVE fricking Jobs. He has changed the universe. If he says some of his own customers are doofuses, I am sure it is so.
