Security Breach in Calif. Health Department

February 9, 2010

in Featured

The California Department of Health Care Services “accidentally” mails out  to 50,000 Medi-cal recipients with Social Security numbers printed on the OUTSIDE of the envelope?

And it takes them four days to realize the mistake?

“On Saturday, the department said it began sending notification letters to the 49,352 beneficiaries alerting them to the security breach.

The letter also advised beneficiaries how to protect themselves from identity theft by contacting the three credit reporting agencies and placing a fraud alert on their files.”

Oh, that makes us feel MUCH better!

These are the geniuses that want to abolish private health insurance in California and administrate a $220 billion/year single-payer state insurance program?

The CA Dept of Health Care is obviously being run by lemurs. No, wait–lemurs would do a better job.

I have called my local assembly woman. She is a Democrat…and she is very much AGAINST SB 810, the proposed state health care bill…that was encouraging! I told her the tea party is watching and gave her lots of moral support to stay strong against the libs.

It is stuck in committee on the assembly side…maybe it will die there.
